What We (did not) Find on the Floor

This April, the DaLatEst Coffee Co. team visited the Tallinn Coffee Festival 2026 at Kultuurikatel – the biggest coffee event in the Baltics, now celebrating its 10th anniversary. We came not with a booth, but with open eyes: to explore, meet the community, and understand where the Estonian coffee market truly stands today.
What We Discovered: A Gap in the Market
Walking the floor and talking to exhibitors confirmed what we had long suspected, but seeing it so clearly in person was still striking. Not a single Estonian roastery is working with Fine Canephora. Not one. And the international exhibitors from Denmark, the UK, Latvia and Lithuania? Same story.
In a hall packed with exceptional Arabica roasters, our corner of the coffee world simply wasn’t there. For DaLatEst Coffee Co., that’s not a gap, that’s an invitation.

The Cupping Competition – Inspiration for 2027
A major highlight was the Estonian Cupping Championship – professionals blind-tasting and evaluating cup after cup with extraordinary precision. Watching it up close was both humbling and motivating. Next year, our goal is to bring Fine Canephora into that conversation and show the wider public what Vietnamese specialty Canephora and Rufina from Panama (another variety of Canephora) can genuinely achieve in the cup.
We’ll Be Back With a Booth
We didn’t exhibit this year, but we will in 2027. The festival made one thing crystal clear: the Estonian coffee community is curious, quality-driven, and ready for something new. Our story : a Fine Canephora roastery, sourced direct from Vietnam and Panama, roasted in Estonia, belongs in that room.
